Our Nature and Culture Program is aimed at immigrant, refugee and/or special needs children and their families, often on low incomes.
Visit places such as the Biodome, the Botanical Garden, the Biosphere or the Planetarium in Montreal, and enjoy all the things they have to offer and learn. The aim of the program is to facilitate participants’ integration into Canadian life, as it also includes outings to libraries and Maisons de la culture in various neighbourhoods of Montreal, which offer impressive opportunities for learning while having fun at the same time. Moreover, there will be visits to urban farms and local markets, as well as apple picking to promote healthy eating with local products. The environment-focused program will also feature craft workshops with recycled objects and artistic collage workshops using finds from walks in Montreal's lesser-known parks.
A survey of parents revealed strong interest in the various activities to be complemented by pedagogical support from French-language schools, and the availability of shadows will ensure accessibility for children with special needs.
We wish a warm welcome to all participants!
